Quick craft catch up

Craftiness, or at least thinking about craftiness or reading about other people’s craftiness, takes up quite a lot of my time.  I’m a pathological multi-tasker, and have to be doing something else while I’m watching tv, or even chatting, to the disappointment of the hubs.

This is what has been on my crafty desk (AKA the dining table) lately:

I’m designing for A Piece of Cake Designs kit club and you can check out my layouts on the blog here.  The April kit goes on sale tonight at 8pm so pop on over to snag one.  Here is one of my March pages with a photo of me and my cutie.

I was also the guest designer for Stuck Sketches this month; my first layout is up on the blog now, and the second will go up mid-month.  Stuck is a wonderful place to check out if you need some inspiration!

And, of course, you can see my Masters work every month in Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.

I’m also just about finished sewing a cute red skirt which I will be sure to share (if it fits!) once I’m done.

I’ll be back later with my SYL12 update for this week. That said, it is the first day of school holidays, so I might get completely distracted with arguing little boys!

Weekend inspiration

Happy, happy Friday!  I must admit, now that I have a school boy I totally understand the attraction of the weekends!  Prior to this, it really was just an extension of the week (with an extra mouth to feed during the day!) but now the thought of not having to be out the door in the morning is just. lovely.

I’m off to my semi-regular craft night with my favourite ladies tonight, and thought I’d post a bit of an inspiration prompt for myself.

Since it was Valentine’s Day this week, this colour scheme is a little love-inspired.  Aren’t the rich, velvety tones just beautiful?

If you use this to inspire some creativity this weekend, please let me know!

My creative space

If anyone ever says to me ‘wow, what are you going to do with all your spare time now that your oldest is at school?’ I think I will laugh in their face.

I have never been so busy as I have been the past three days. I feel like I’ve spent half my life in the car, and the other half racing around like a crazy lady.

Granted, I have also had Dubs starting kinder AND hubby is super busy with work, which in turn makes me busy keeping up with his paperwork, AND had a couple of freelance type jobs to do.

But I do fear this is the start of a new kind of normal. And having spent the last few weeks suffering from a lack of creative time, I decided that this morning, once I had dropped Diesel at school and Dubs at kinder, I would get Peanut down for a nap, ignore the paperwork and the housework, and create something. Anything.

For any scrapbookers out there who still read my blog (and haven’t given up on me ever sharing anything vaguely crafty ever again), here’s the results of my two hours of crafty time today!

Linking up with Our Creative Spaces today.

Did you get creative today?  Or are you struggling to find any me-time as the school year starts?

My creative space

My creative space has been a bit overwhelmed by hubby’s work stuff (we don’t have an office), playgroup enrolment forms, random paperwork, and Meccano creations this week, as well as doubling as our dining table, but I did manage to do a layout.  I thought it was worth sharing since it has been so long!

I actually have been doing a small amount of scrapbooking, but it’s all Scrapbooking Memories Mag assignments so I can’t share.  This one was just for fun.  And took me way too long.  I think I’ve forgotten how to just play and cut and paste.  Must work on that.
